Leblon Cachaca was a proud participant of the most important art show in the United States, a cultural and social highlight for the Americas: Art Basel Miami Beach. The first day, Ornare hosted the créme-de-la-créme of designers and architects in its fourth annual Tastemakers Showcase. Ornare’s showroom displayed projects of 21 distinguished architects, designers and builders. Ornare’s guests had a spectacular time tasting the well known Brazilian drink: Leblon Caipirinhas. Our fun didn’t stop there……During the week Graffiti Gone Global (GGG) launched its fourth consecutive year with an exhibition of street and graffiti art powered by Sushi Samba and Leblon Cachaca. We didn’t forget the magazine’s fans! Art Basel selected the top American and international art periodicals and ARTE!Brasileiros launched its first International Bilingual Edition. To celebrate this achievement there’s nothing better than a good Leblon Caipirinha, right?! And sure, we can’t talk about Art Basel and don’t mention Littlest sister! Littlest sister is a fragment of the explosive satellite art fair phenomena; exploring the “booth” as a venue to exhibit and sell art. Over 80 men and women showed up to the open call for our Leblonettes and Captain Caipirinha Search. After one long week 30 new team members went to our very intense Caipi Camp.

The trainees descended on South beach where they learned from Vitoria Caipirinha about Cachaça, Caipirinhas and Leblon. They mixed, muddled and drank. And even had a surprise visit by NYC’s Caipi Mobile Lulu. With Lulu the team is completely ready to wet your appetites with Leblon Caipirinhas.

Steve granted Brazilian Ambassador for the USA, Mauro Vieira, a very special gift! He gave him our original Cachaça Declaration of Independence, signed by the top 500 bartenders in the world at the Tales of the Cocktail.

Caipirinhas were the spotlight drink during Fashion’s Night Out in NYC this past Friday being featured at two popular events. The Cachaça cocktail was even noticed by Us Weekly, who featured us on their website. The Leblonettes created delicious Traditional and Strawberry-Basil Caipirinhas at the Brazilian fashion designer Carlos Miele’s event, while Vita CoCo Caipirinhas were enjoyed at iconic fashion designer Diane von Fürstenberg’s event. Thank you to designers Fürstenberg and Miele for all their support, along with avid Cachaça fans: Alessandra Ambrosio, Lorenzo Martone, Michelle Alves, and Guy Oseary.

On Thursday, July 22nd, Cachaça was featured at 25 Spirited Dinners at the Tales of the Cocktail in New Orleans, LA. World-renowned mixologists worked with the chefs to create and pair a custom Leblon Cachaça Cocktail with a specific course at each dinner. These tantalizingly delicious creations were just too good to keep to ourselves.

Broussard’s
Cocktail by Nick Nemeth

The Maison Jerry Cocktail
30ml Leblon Cachaça
30 mL Sailor Jerry spiced rum
15 mL fresh lime juice
15 mL simple syrup
30 mL Egg whites
6 Raspberries
10 Black peppercorns

Method:
Shake ingredients over ice, and fine-strain into a chilled coupe.
Finish with brulee of Angostura Aromatic bitters.

Cocktail by Paul Clarke, Jeffrey Morganthaler, & Jeremy Thompson

Third Course Cocktail
1 1/2 oz Leblon cachaça
3/4 oz Fresh lime juice
3/4 oz Pineapple gum syrup
1/2 oz Egg white
1/4 oz Luxardo amaretto
1 tsp Apricot preserves

Method:
Shake and serve in a cocktail glass.

1 oz Leblon cachaça

The Legalize Movement has spread throughout New Orleans with great success! Steve Luttmann, Founder of Leblon Cachaça, was mixing up a storm, showing attendees of the Spirited Dinner what a true Caipirinha tastes like. To continue the night’s excitement, there was a Save the Caipirinha after-party at the Royal Sonesta Courtyard.

If you have never tried a Caipirinha before, you are definitely missing out! Use the recipe below to make your own Caipirinha at home for all your family and friends.

The Leblon Caipirinha

2 oz. Leblon Cachaça
1/2 Lime
2 tsp Superfine sugar or 1 oz Simple Syrup*
Glass-Rocks

Directions: Cut the lime into four wedges. Muddle the lime and sugar in a shaker. Fill the shaker with ice and add Leblon Cachaça. Shake vigorously. Serve in a rocks glass. Garnish with a slice of lime.

*1 packet of Splenda or Equal can be used in place of superfine sugar.

(The New Orleans Classic with Leblon Cachaça)

2 oz. Leblon Cachaça
1 oz. fresh lime juice
1 oz. fresh lemon juice
1 oz. fresh pineapple juice
1/2 passion fruit
fresh cherry

Method:
Stir all ingredients in a highball glass. Add ice and garnish with a fresh cherry.

From the famous Pat O’Briens in New Orleans, Naren and Jacob do a little comparative research on the differences between a Hurricane made with a fine powder mix (note: please do not try this at home), and a Hurricane made with Fresh Fruit and Leblon Cachaça (note: please try this one at home).

Fresh lime, teased with sweetness, smashed with ice
and doused in Brasil’s Finest Cachaça

Fill a highball or pint glass with ice
Add 2 ounces of Leblon Cachaça
1 ounce of sour mix or 2 squeezes of fresh lime juice

The Legalize Cachaça movement has received such great feedback, we decided to take over the entire United States! We have even spread internationally to Brazil, France, and England. We started out campaigning on the streets, but after gaining an incredible amount of interest, we spread the movement to Facebook and Twitter to increase the awareness to people in locations our street teams cannot reach. We also spread the word on the Leblon Cachaça twitter account.

Now everyone can join the movement and help Legalize Cachaça so we can finally call our beloved Cachaça by its name instead the current mislabeled “Brazilian Rum.” So far we have taken over California, Georgia, Florida, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Boston, Nevada, Texas, and Chicago. We have grown exponentially and are not planning on slowing down anytime soon!

Please help us spread the word by writing about us on Facebook, twitter, or blogs! Retweet, repost, link to our blog, or suggest us to your friends on Facebook so more people can be aware of our cause. Each new person that knows about our movement brings us a little closer to our goal of LEGALIZING CACHAÇA!

Our bright lime green Legalize Cachaça truck definitely stands out like a sore thumb while driving through NYC and Los Angeles! The truck caught the eye of a CNN reporter in NY, who was intrigued by our cause and decided to write a story about the Legalize Cachaça Movement and our delicious Leblon Caipirinha, a Brazilian cocktail made with Leblon Cachaça, fresh limes, sugar, and ice. Cachaça Tom and his team of Leblonettes work day and night to spread the word about Legalize Cachaça. They are trying to allow Cachaça to be in its own category, instead of being forced to call itself “Brazilian Rum.” Tom and his beautiful Brazilian Leblonettes give out pamphlets with information about Cachaça and samples of refreshing Caipirinha flavored sorbet, which definitely helps New Yorkers fight the torturous heat these days. As more and more people become involved in our movement, we know we know we will be able to successfully petition the U.S. government and gain our right to be called CACHAÇA!

Can’t fight the heat…Cool off with an frozen Caipirinha!

The temperature is rising outside throughout the Northeast, with no signs of slowing down! The heat wave is now expanding throughout the rest of the US! If your temperature is boiling due to the 100+ degree heat, grab an ice cold Caipirinha. Look out for our Caipi-Mobile driving around L.A. and NYC! If you are lucky enough to catch the Legalize Truck, ask for their free Leblon Caipirinha flavored sorbet samples.

Here are a few of our frozen Caipirinha recipes in case you want to try to make one at home!

Black and Blue Berry Batida

Ingredients:
2 oz. Leblon Cachaça
2 oz. condensed milk
½ oz. blackberry liqueur
¼ cup blackberries
¼ cup blueberries
1 cup cracked ice

Method:
Combine all of the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Garnish with a small pillow of freshly whipped cream and berries.

Cachaça Colada

Ingredients:
1 ¾ oz. Leblon Cachaça
1 oz. pineapple juice
1 oz. pina colada mix
¼ lime
1 cup cracked ice
A splash of simple syrup
Pineapple, for garnish

Method:
Fresh-squeeze the juice of a ¼ lime into a blender and add the remaining ingredients. Blend until smooth and garnish with a slice of pineapple.

Unfortunately, our hometown team, Brazil, lost to Netherlands 2:1 in their World Cup quarter-final game today. We still love the Brazil team and are looking forward to the next World Cup games in 2014, which will be HELD IN BRAZIL!!! Hopefully playing in our home base will be lucky for us and we will win the World Cup next time!

Great job throughout the entire World Cup Brazil! We are sorry you did not make it all the way to win the finals, but we know you tried your best.

We were thrilled to see the Caipirinha on InStyle.com’s list of Stars’ Favorite Cocktails as Madonna’s Favorite Cocktail! The Vita Coco Caipirinha was even served at Madonna and Demi’s Oscar Party in LA!

No one can deny Madonna has great taste, now we know she also has the best taste in cocktails! Since she is always miles ahead everybody in trends, we’re expecting the Caipirinha is to explode into the mainstream this summer.

Madonna: Vita Coco Caipirinha

Madonna’s favorite all-natural cocktail was created by the mixologist at New York City’s Avenue nightclub.

INGREDIENTS
• 4 lime wedges

• 2 tbsp. sugar
• Leblon Cachaça
• 1 Vita Coco Tangerine coconut water

DIRECTIONS
Squeeze lime wedges and toss into an ice-filled glass with sugar. Fill ½ of glass with Leblon Cachaça and top off with Vita Coco Tangerine. Stir gently and serve.

It was a battle of two South American countries for the FIFA World Cup Qualifying Match yesterday. Brazil was victorious, kicking Chile out of the World Cup for the third time!

Since Leblon is Natural Cane Cachaça produced at our distillery in the heart of Minas Gerais, Brazil, we have no choice but to be loyal to our hometown Brazil during the World Cup. It was a joyous moment when Brazil knocked Chile out of the World Cup with a final score of 3-0, with goals from Juan, Luis Fabiano, and Robinho. We are anxiously awaiting the quarter-final showdown with the Netherlands Friday, July 2nd at 10 AM EST. We will be cheering for Brazil Friday morning, fingers crossed that they beat the Netherlands, with our eyes glued to the big screen TVs at Sushi Sambas across the United States.

Alessandra Ambrosio hosted her annual kick off to summer with her Follow the Sun Party. Fellow Victoria Secret Angels Adriana Lima and Doutzen Kroes sipped on Leblon Caipirinha’s with Alessandra.

With its fresh ingredients and the smooth taste of Leblon Cachaça, the Brazilian cocktail is great for both day and night at BBQs, parties, poolside, or even at the beach! To celebrate wrapping the video, everyone at Maxim learned to Samba Dance and tasted an assortment of delicious Caipirinhas, including watermelon, strawberry, and the traditional Caipirinha made with Leblon, lime, and sugar.

The LA Film Festival had a great turnout Friday and Saturday nights, with a never ending supply of Leblon Caipirinhas!

LA Film Festival goers flooded the live.create lounge when it opened on June 18th, and could not get enough of our sweet and sour Brazilian Cocktail. The smell of fresh crushed limes enticed the crowd, while the sweet taste forced them to come back for seconds and thirds!

Several bands played throughout the day for a fun break in between viewing films at the festival. Guests came from all over to enjoy amazing company, play word games on the wall, paint art on the community canvasses, and to drink fresh Leblon Caipirinhas.

Saturday, June 19th, featured the Film Maker’s opening party and drinks were flowing starting at 5:00 P.M. Word had spread throughout the festival, and fans were now coming up to request the “Brazilian Margarita” they heard so much about! Brazilians in the crowd were enticing strangers to try out the popular drink. Everyone enjoyed the band Fishbone, who performed late into the night. The fun lasted until 2:00 A.M. with our bartenders serving Leblon Caipirinhas for 8 hours straight! With such a great response from everyone there, it was a great opportunity to get the word out with our Legalize Cachaça movement!

Tyson Beckford was enjoying the nice New York City weather, Brazil winning their World Cup game, and his new gang of Leblonettes! The Leblon Cachaça Girls, also known as the beautiful Brazilian Leblonettes, led by Vitoria Caipirinha, were out all day rooting for Brazil and kept on running into the equally gorgeous model and actor Tyson Beckford. They first met outside the Via Dei Mille Restaurant and then bumped into the girls again at Sushi Samba. I guess he couldn’t get enough of the hot Brazilian spirit! They were drinking Leblon Caipirinhas, Brazilian’s national cocktail, and partying all day long! Live Love Leblon! GO BRAZIL!

Leblon waited on pins and needles until Brazil defeated Korea in the World Cup! We celebrated the victory all over NYC, LA, and Chicago. In NYC the Leblonettes, Cachaça Tom and Vitoria Caipirinha partied at Sushi Samba, Via dei Mille, & Plataforma Churrascaria. On our travels we ran into the Mayor of Sao Paulo, Globo TV, Chris Tucker and Tyson Beckford, among thousands of Brazilians and Brazil lovers rooting for their team! There were firecrackers flaring, soccer playing in the streets, samba dancing from SAMBA NOVO, and even some table dancing. There was so much craziness by all that even a New York City Police horse was running loose throughout the streets. Chanting throughout the city streets you could hear OLÉ OLÉ OLÉ OLÉ BRAZIL!

The pair were seen leaving Da Silvano on Avenue of the Americas in Greenwich Village yesterday afternoon, while the girls were spreading the Legalize Cachaça movement and suggesting New Yorkers to try Leblon Caipirinhas. The rest of the city had their eyes locked on the Italy vs. Paraguay World Cup game yesterday. So, what should you serve?

STRAWBERRY CARAFE
1 ½ bottles Leblon Cachaça
2/3 cup superfine sugar
12 large strawberries, quartered
2 limes, cut into eights

Method:

Muddle the lime, strawberries and sugar in a carafe or pitcher.
Add a small scoop of ice and Leblon Cachaça to the carafe and stir well.
Serve in rocks glasses filled with fresh ice.
Make sure to get some of the fruit into each glass.

THE SUNSET PITCHER
4 oz. Leblon Cachaça
2 oz. raspberry liqueur
2 oz. Campari
6 oz. champagne
6 oz. guava nectar
1 oz. fresh lemon juice
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Method:
Fill half the pitcher with ice and add the ingredients. Stir well. Garnish with slices of fresh peach and other seasonal fruit.

The New York City Leblon team held a Kick-Off Dinner at the Abe and Arthur’s Restaurant and enjoyed delicious Caipirinhas at the Standard Beer Garden to celebrate the Legalize Cachaça Movement in NYC! We were sick and tired of Cachaça being labeled incorrectly so we decided to take on the responsibility to help Cachaça be recognized as what it is – Cachaça – and not as ‘Brazilian Rum.’ We were passionate enough about our cause that we created a movement to Legalize Cachaça! It started in Miami, and then spread like a wildfire to Los Angeles. We are please to announce that the movement has finally made its way to NEW YORK! Please join our cause and make sure to keep an eye out for our Legalize Cachaça Truck roaming the streets of New York trying to find supporters!

The Legalize Cachaça team made it to it’s second AVP tour event last weekend. After such a great experience in Santa Babara we decided to follow the tour to Huntington Beach. There was an amazing response from everyone there. A group of Brazilians and their American friends were happy to join our campaign to Legalize Cachaça! While spreading the word of cachaça, we were also able to catch some amazing volleyball games.

What is Cachaca? Cachaca is an Alcohol from Brazil, made of Sugarcane juice. It’s what goes in a Caipirinha, However, the US Government calls Cachaca “Brazilian Rum” even though it isn’t rum- it’s Cachaca. So, we want the government to call it Cachaca, and the way we fight, the way we protest- is by drinking as much as we can!
And of course, Leblon Cachaca is our favorite!

We were thrilled to see the Caipirinha on InStyle.com’s list of Stars’ Favorite Cocktails as Madonna’s Favorite Cocktail! The Vita Coco Caipirinha was even served at Madonna and Demi’s Oscar Party in LA!

No one can deny Madonna has great taste, now we know she also has the best taste in cocktails! Since she is always miles ahead everybody in trends, we’re expecting the Caipirinha is to explode into the mainstream this summer.
